Doctors that perform LASIK surgery are now looking into the possibility of screening potential candidates for depression prior to admittance. The correlation between depression and LASIK complications may be due to the fact that the patient was suffering from depression prior to surgery.
Any complications suffered during a LASIK procedure may only deepen the feelings of depression the patient already had.
