Dr. Lucy Mudie is a board-certified oculofacial surgeon specializing in reconstructive & cosmetic surgery of the eyes & face. With dual citizenship in the USA and Australia, she brings a global perspective to her practice. Dr. Mudie grew up in Australia & has built a distinguished career, combining her expertise in surgery with a commitment to patient care, research, & innovation.

Dr. Mudie completed both her undergraduate studies & medical school at the University of Queensland in Australia. After relocating to the USA, she earned a Master of Public Health from the prestigious Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where she was recognized as the Dana Center for Preventive Ophthalmology Student of the Year. At the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute, she focused on critical issues such as refractive error, diabetic retinopathy, & glaucoma.

Dr. Mudie completed her internal medicine internship at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, LA, before pursuing a residency in ophthalmology at the University of Colorado in Denver. During her residency, she was temporarily redeployed to internal medicine to support COVID-19 efforts & was honored as a COVID-19 champion for her dedication. Her research during this time earned her the Stuart & Ellie Fine Endowed Resident Research Award. Dr. Mudie went on to complete a 2-year fellowship in oculofacial plastic surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where she received numerous accolades, including the Eyewiki Residents & Fellows competition award for her research on Carotid – Cavernous Fistulas & the Samuel Stahl Research Award from Texas Children’s Hospital. She was also awarded an inaugural American Academy of Ophthalmology Green Grant for her sustainability project in oculoplastic surgery.

Outside of her medical practice, she cherishes time with her husband, son and their three big dogs. She also enjoys hiking, road trips & live music.
